Overview

The SafetyTots and Betsy the Butterfly in What's the Safest Thing to Do? (Program contains 3 languages - English, French, and Spanish)

A Fun Way To Keep Kids Safe! Join the adorable and loveable SafetyTots as they learn how to safely react to situations that they may encounter. With the help of their "guardian angel", Betsy The Butterfly, children ages 3-8 will squeal with delight as they explore the 35 scenarios which are fun and completely non-threatening. This activity addresses many safety issues such as drowning prevention, poison control, stranger awareness, firearms safety, drug and alcohol prevention and fire prevention.

Given rave reviews, including 4 1/2 Stars from the LA TIMES Children's Software Reviewer, Jinny Gudmundsen, this visual aide is perfect for at home or for any safety program for children.

SafetyTots is perfect for the home or in the classroom. This learning resource is the ideal teaching resource to use with a Smartboard for teacher facilitated group interaction and discussion. Examples of some concepts where parent/teacher discussion is valuable is defining "trusted adults", "getting permission" and "what is a stranger". Every primary classroom should have this engaging multimedia safety program to introduce safety concepts to young children.

Helping to make our world a safer place for children has been a nineteen year mission for Paula Geonie, President and CEO of SafetyTots International. In 1982, after being a victim of a horrific armed robbery, Paula was traumatized. Knowing how difficult it was for her to cope with such an emotional nightmare, she couldn't even imagine the fear that a little child experiences when they are hurt or victimized. So she did some research and found out that children are being injured and abused by the millions every year. She decided that she had to do something to protect them and in 1983, she founded PLAYING IT SAFE, the national award winning non-profit children's safety program fro ages 3 -8. Two years later she started SafetyTots International because she felt that the world needed innovative educational products that offer solutions to challenging situation that our children may encounter in their lives.
